Each has its own particular way of being summoned. Once they hit certain amounts of proficiency, they level up and gain several buffs, which vary depending on the type. When the player deals damage of a certain type, their proficiency with that type increases. It has a series of five attributes, one for each damage type, that scale with the player as they progress through the game. Defeating a boss is usually instrumental in advancing the game in some way.
